Handy little pain pen

This portable pain pen has been a wonderful addition to my self care routine. I’ve suffered from TMJ pain for years, and find that this device can often help prevent pain from occurring, when I use it first thing in the morning, to help relax the muscles before pain has a chance to set in. So, I guess you could say I use it as a preventative. I’ll also use it if I feel pain starting to creep in, and many times it will resolve. I think catching the pain early is key! Great little invention!

My Story

I’m Noam, a mechanical engineer and TMD patient of over 4 years. It started like it does for most: with some clicking on one side. Then both. Then intermittent lockups. Now, I’ve had a disc displacement without reduction for over a year.

I’ve tried it all: NSAIDs, anti-inflammatories, muscle relaxants, physical therapy, even surgery.

But my jaw still wouldn’t unlock.

That experience, years of searching, waiting and guessing made one thing painfully clear. There are almost no tools made for us. So I quit my job and started building the ones that should’ve existed all along.

Honestly, Great Addition to Pain Management Routine

My partner got this for me as a birthday gift to help with my chronic TMJ/Jaw/Neck pain. I really did not have any expectations, but was excited to try it.

So far, I am happy! I have a lot of neck/shoulder pillow and pressure point devices. I also take WAY too much pain reliver throughout the day. Using this little device 2-3 times a day works a lot better than the other options so far and I have cut down my pain reliever intake by about half, which is a great start. It feels nice, is super easy to carry around, and easy/quick to use.

It is not an all-out cure or miracle worker. But after getting referred to non-stop dead-end treatments or recurring appointments I cannot afford, I am really grateful to have this as another option. I know I didn't personally spend the money on it since it was a gift, but after having it for about 3 weeks now, I honestly would not have a problem spending the money on it.
