Hi my name is Noam. I'm a Mechanical Engineer and TMD patient of over 5 years. Things started like they always do - with clicking/popping on one side. Over the next few years symptoms progressed to popping on both sides, to intermittent lockups, to the point where now I have had a disc displacement without reduction (closed lock) on one side for over a year.

I've tried NSAIDs, anti-inflammatories, muscle relaxants, PT, and even an arthroscopy. But nothing has been able to unlock my jaw.

Over this ongoing journey to cure my chronic jaw pain, it became overwhelming how few solutions existed to deal with TMJ Disorders. Enough to quit my job to pursue my dream of being a product designer and start building tools that simply needed to exist for the TMJ community.

yourTMJ Pen is one of those tools that just needed to exist.

When Noam was dealing with intermittent lockups, every practitioner would mention that he should heat and massage the area to deal with the pain and let the muscles relax so the jaw could unlock. Fact is, they were right. And as the lockups became more and more frequent, heated massage became a more and more powerful tool in maintaining a normal life.

At some point nearly every morning he'd wake up with a lock, and have to go fill up a mug of water, microwave it, wait for it to cool down a bit, and then start using the bottom ridge to dig into the jaw muscles while heating them up. After a couple minutes he'd finally be able to brush his teeth.

At some point it became worth buying a product to make this process easier. But there was nothing... On September 6th, 2023 he started designing.

Even though we only started shipping yourTMJ Pen in August 2024, it's clear we've stumbled onto something important.

Our goal is to get yourTMJ Pen to the point where it sustains a proper business. After which we'll have the time and resources to develop future products in the TMJ space. And oh baby do we have ideas. From more daily wellness products, to practitioner tools, to full on diagnostic devices.

The future is looking bright. And we hope to have you along for the ride.
